Reputed Manufacturers are violeting their AMCs
Eureka Forbes, a very reputed Manufacturers of water purifiers make AMCs for 1 or 2 years with advance payment. After that the customers are left on the mercy of their service technicians. For any complain, he will decide, when he will come to attend to such critical house hold appliance, when he will bring spares of good quality. Generally they bring substandard spares, which fails in 2/3 months. Again different types of excuses given to attend and rectify the filter, leaving the customers into deep trouble. Ther is nobody from the manufacturer to listen to. All are outsourced, they only looking for their interest, of no help to the customer. more

Yes, Mr.Ranjit Biswas, you are really lucky. As you were not available in your house, sending a message to you does not cost to the AMC outsourced agency, but he gains goodwill. They are very good till any part or filter is required to replace once within the AMC period. If any part required to be replaced for the 2nd time within the same AMC period due to may be substandard quality, you will face the music. They will make you dance with their excuses and you will be forced to buy mineral water indefinitely. Finally you may be forced to buy the part indirectly from the technician of the same agency. This is my personal experience. more

May be but as far as I am concerned, I have not, so far come a cross of such a situation and as you said, yes I am lucky. My AMC with the service provider is timely and properly executed by them. more

But I have a different story. Maintenance of our Water purifier is also done under AMC and the services are invariably carried out at their own. Last year due to unforseen lock down we were detained at upcountry centre for about a year and the house was locked. During this period I had received several phone calls and SMS from the service providers saying that they are unable to carry out the services due. Immediately on returning back during February this year, the service man rushed to carry the services and changing required materials. That means we are lucky enough! more

Yes, most the manufacturers were selfish and shift their burden by outsourcing their service and maintenance. more

I am using Eureka Forbes R.O. Water purifier system for the past over 25 years. Till about two years back their service under AMC was satisfactory with heavy charges that kept increasing every year. With Covid spread while the company has further enhanced their AMC charges, they have reduced the periodical visits of their mechanic with no candle replacement till renewal of AMC. The company is basking in its past glory with mismanaged/inefficient competitors. more

If you are getting munic iipal water, then first filter it with a readymade kit filter available at many stores for Rs.150/- Filter the water thru this, then boil it. Boil for twenty minutes after the bubbles appear. Let it cool and then again filter it into a container from which you draw the water. Much better than all the hassles with these water purifier companies. After all, what did our forefathers do, they did the same thing. more

can some one guide how to remove excess aluminum found in the water as told by DJB, after boiling water ,the container gets deposited with white layer more
