restaurant association misleading consumers

By giving full page ads that they thank govt for reducing gst to 5% and not passing the 13% benefit to consumer they are playing with consumers and governments mind.

This is also the association that calls service charge is legal and will be levied.

If you find benefit of gst is not being given to you, show this attached ad to the restaurant manager and question them.

Also Govt officers should also visit these restaurants and do their independent evaluation or book them under profiteering provision.
Also let us know the names. more

Why not the government is issuing a notification showing the reduced rates of GST on all the items listed in the list of reduced rates along with suitable warnings of stern action against those dishonest traders found guilty of flouting the government directives by increasing prices of their products? It is not clear as to why the government is hesitant in initiating quick action in the matters relating to the interests of the common men! more
It is lack of supervision of implementation by the State Governments, and directions of the Central Govt in the Department of Consumer Affairs's Directorate of W&M. It is suggested that all the consumers who experience over charging should send in their authenticated photo copies to the Helpline Service with a request to demand putting a Regulator in this sector of the service segment. The State Departments must work on refunding the overcharge to the consumers - in their State's Consumer Welfare Fund in the Consumer Affairs Department. more
10% service charge is being levied by all establishments, I have no idea what this charge is for. I and my friends had gone out for dinner and the bill came to 5000 rs. and the service charge levied was 500, which is a huge amount, and on top of it we also tip the waiters, who really work so hard attending to us. Where does the service charge go? Can someone explain to me please. Thanks more
NRAI did a nice homework and could convince the government for reduction of GST rate. The upfront expenses in carrying out homework need to be recovered as quickly as possible. These restaurants are not meant for common people whatever they may claim. Why to worry, where is the national interest as long vested interest are taken care off. more
You are right but in my primarily the Guides and Advisors to business people carry higher responsibilities. In practice higher profits earned need to be shared with them only.

Social responsibility remains on paper otherwise our countrymen would have not become so poor. more
National interest and Social Responsibility lost in most of the Businessmen and Traders OTHERWISE, Cashless transaction issue should have seen its Economic Stability. more
Somehow, these hospitality bloodsuckers have devised out some tricks to overcharge and justify, like they'd charge service charge, after protests now they're putting it in some other tags, like charging GST twice. These all businesses always plundered the biggest profits till now in the name of providing luxury and paying no taxes whatsoever! All such malpractices must be reported by the public and the bills must be scrutinized. more
