despite the rising fuel and gas prices,i am surprised that celebrities and corporate leaders are just not raising their hand in support of the common citizen..why can't the film celebrities live their reel life in real life..are they scared of income tax raid or other type of harassment by the central govt..the silence of the celebrities and corporate heads is very disturbing and perplexing. more

On the worry expressed by some of our friends over the rising prices of petrol/diesel and cooking gas, a very interesting analysis of prices of these products and certain other products/services during last 50/60 years received as WhatsApp message is reproduced hereunder for information of our members. Though its a WhatsApp message, the prices quoted therein are more or less correct and reliable. Year in between 1970-1980: Price of 1 litre petrol Rs.3.24 including 25cc oil. Today the cost is Rs.102.00 (about 33 times) Cost of a cup of tea in a road side shop (thela) Re.0.20. Today a cup of tea in the same shop costs Rs.10.00 (50 times) Monthly cost of Indian Express daily News paper Rs.5.70. Today it costs Rs.240.00 (42 times) Veg food in an ordinary hotel was costing less than Rs.3.00. Today the cost is Rs.120.00 (50 times) In ordinary cinema hall movie ticket was costing less than Rs.2.00. Today minimum cost is Rs.120.00 (60 times) Cost of one garland was Re.0.25 - 0.50. Today it costs Rs.20 - 100 ( 80 - 400 times) Minimum bus fare was Re.0.10. today it is Rs.4.00 (40 times) A house in a city in good locality in 3000 - 4000 sq. ft plot costing around Rs.30,000. Today it costs more than Rs.1 crore to any where. (400 to 500 times appro) 1 gram of gold was costing around Rs.30. today it costs Rs.4,800 (160 times) In 1965 gross salary of a clerk in SBI was Rs.190. Today it is around 25,000.00 (132 times) These apart, if the price of milk is increased by Rs.2 a litre, the price of one KG of sweet is increased by any where from Rs.20 to Rs.50. Similarly on increase of edible oil price , the price of related edible items are increased by at least twice of the increase but on coming down the oil price, the prices of such items are never revised downwards but none of us complain and raise objections. A few years back the price of somosa costing Rs.2.50 a piece was made Rs.10 a piece overnight but no one of us raised any objection. All the above are simply examples. Accordingly, we should reconsider the justification of our making the petrol price hike an issue. more
Correct Analysis more
For hike in Petrol and cooking gas we have to ask Previous Govt Shri Manmohan Singhji and Soniaji. As my knowledge between the year 2011 to 2014 they bought petrol and gave oil bonds to the oil companies i.e worth Rs.1,31,000 crores which are maturing between the year 2019 to 2026. Now Modiji Govt has to repay it with interest. We should ask Modiji Govt to recover interest amount from the people who issued oil bonds. Why we have to pay interest? Rs.3500 crore interest is already paid and this Govt has the target to repay full amount by 2026. Our FM Smt.Nirmala Sitaraman once asked Manmohan Singhji in the Parliament about this. He said he didnt want to put burden of hike in petrol prices on the public. So they continued to giving subsidised petrol to the public. They were knowing that they will not win in 2014. So kept oil payments pending. Therefore better we ask previous Govt to pay interest atleast. more
Government must take immediate steps to control the price of Petroleum products. more
We must support our government in such challenging time due to Chinese virus and country's internal viruses e.g. Rakesh Tikait , Owaisi etc more
Why should they the (netas) and the (babus) in the government bother. They are the biggest free loaders and don't pay for anything on earth. As for bollywood stars, they earn in hundreds of crores and won't bother about the rise in fuel cost even if it goes beyond Rs.500/- per litre.. They fly chartered flights. That's the kind of wealth they have. more
