Sanitaryware Makers not passing GST reduction

Most of the sanitaryware makers have not reduced MRPs on existing inventory after the GST rate reduction from 28% to 18% as a result distributors and retailers never passed on benefit to consumer. Consumer still buying that stock ar 28% gst prices

Can the profiteering authorities please look into this and take action against manufacturers? more

The revenue and consumers protection departments have utterly failed to firmly act against these profiteering manufacturers & traders and initiating punitive action against them for their illegal acts and to protect the interests of the consumers. It is one year now that the GST was introduced but surprisingly the government has not yet made necessary arrangements to cope up with its implementation in right spirit and to ensure that the consumers are not made preys of our dishonest business community due to continued ambiguity in the new tax laws and the governments' failure to take appropriate action against the profiteering entities. more
Business man know how to book profit, GST may be Up or Down. It only maters to consumer pay higher price. more
I feel the subject of anti-profiteering may be difficult. On the one hand the prices increased by any retailers or trader could be visible as profiteering and on the other hand the retailers may say he is increasing the profit which no one can object to unless the commodities are falling in the category of essential commodities. There need to be very strong ground to book any business adapting to profiteering. The profiteering can be checked to ensure that enough competition exists in the market and there is no cartelization. Otherwise to me it looks to be another burden on the tax payers money. I myself have brought out a substantiated claim of anti-profiteering by a restaurant as I had documentary evidences to prove. Despite submitting it to the Authority, nothing is visible of any possibility of action on the ground even after more than 10 months. more
Shopkeepers are taking advantage both ways i.e. when the price increases they will immediately increase price even for the old stocks and when the price decreases they will not decrease the selling price. more
States are not interested in intervening and arresting this malpractice and Cheating due to long carried nexus more
The loop wholes in the GST has become a big headache for all. Let there be proper and practical approach. more
