Service deficiency by the telecom operators & forcing customers to pay full charges

I had mobile connection with Airtel, faced immense problem regarding my previous office telephone bills and internet connections. Repeated request through customer service number, their nodal officers or appellate authority didn't help. One day they just disconnected all my messaging services (commercial messages) including online transaction related messages, financial transactions, otp etc. Approaching their available channel didn't help at all. Visiting their stores was another painful exercise where they hire only goondas to chase people away.
As a solution, I have ported my number to vodafone thinking of better service if not better network. but to my continued agony, vodafone customer service is even worst. Even after porting, more than a month I was not receiving commercial messages. More than that their network is so poor in certain places. In my office -Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi the network is Zero whole day that means my phone is muted from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm which is causing me trouble both financially and mentally. I'm not able to contact my daughter who stays alone at home after school. But for the bill they promptly keep calling, messaging and sending mails. If we request any response in reply they send only standard sentences. They keep sending some kind of auto message when i switch on the phone that says so-so number will be calling you shortly for resolving your wishes which never I get such calls. It looks they are building the case for themselves for future litigation.
In this vodafone case, I was requesting them to waive off or reduce the monthly charges as compensation for their deficient services in the first month. Now they have disconnected all the services to my number including incoming outgoing call facility, messaging facility etc. There is no way consumers can respite from these scrupulous Indian telecom players. With 90 days' constraint, I cannot port to any other service providers, at the same time I have no better option as well. Disgustingly painful without any alternate.

I would like to request experts and experienced friends to help what can be done in this case. more

Anuradhaji,we are realy hurt by reading your numerous poblems with the both AIRTEL and the Voda...please donot get bogged down.To start with, you have to call the NATIONAL HELP LINE FOR THE CONSUMERS 1600 11 4000 and follow their advice.Meanwhile, lodge a written complain against both AIRTEL and Voda in the local POLICE STATION.Send the copy of the GD to these TELE operators by SPEED POST with AD to the MANAGING DIRECTORS of the respective companies.Do not forget to report such lapses to the TRAI.Hope you will have the patience to go through the above drill to fix your MOBILE AGONY once for all. With kind regards,BN DAS,KOLKATA more

Airtel Agony: Messaging services are important to keep a track of bank accounts and credit card spends. Just imagine when one is abroad and messaging services are blocked. Airtel, I do not know about other service providers, automatically activates international roaming on the connection, and charges a minimum of Rs 499 PER DAY. They produced a huge bill stating that I had used international roaming (which is apparently different from ISD) in some form. To the best of my recollection, I never made any call to India, never sent any SMS also, I used only WhatsApp with local wifi. For the last 20 years I have been paying whatever is billed because I cannot make head and tail out of the bill. But this time, I protested saying that I never asked for activation of international roaming, Airtel did it at their volition, and therefore I will not pay for international roaming. I have been paying the balance like monthly charges etc after deducting the amount charged for international roaming. That is the "Gunah" I have done. As of now they have stopped SMS services. I am sure that on return to India I shall be greeted by goondas deployed by Airtel. Can somebody advise me as to what I should do while abroad. Leave the Indian SIM card back in India so that no “Gunah” is done even by mistake. Buy a local SIM for local calls, calls to India and importantly, calling cabs. Use wifi (available free in most hotels, airports, malls etc) and WhatsApp for voice/video calls and information exchange. How to manage to get the SMSs from Indian sources especially banks etc? Can anybody advise on this aspect. more
This is a fact and all service providers are charging for the full month, even the service is disrupted during the month. more
Though I hold our judiciary and the quasi judicial organisations responsible for the total break down in rule of law, as law abiding citizens the only suggestion that I can give is to send them notice for deficiency of service and take up the matter with the consumer disputes redressal forum having jurisdiction over your area and pray to god that some sensible members in the forum decides in your favour. more
