The Govt increases duty on electric vehicles they become expensive and a question is being asked whether we will buy them. Another issue is where are the charging stations for electric vehicles? First make all petrol pumps have charging stations just like they do free air. Is there a plan? more

As per news appeared, charging stations are likely to come up in various cities in the near future to encourage the existing car owners and the prospective vehicle purchasers to opt for electric vehicles. more

At least for the next two years or so, the duty should not have been increased. Give time for people to understand, develop the infrastructure and then impose duties. We are not very keen in reducing the global warming phenomena... more

The duty on fully assembled EVs have been increased and that is the right step. Import duty, in absolute terms, is less on SKD and CKD kits (Semi and Completely Knocked Down). There are several companies working towards creating and infrastructure for charging of the EVs. Petrol pumps and gas stations can be good starting point. In any case, it cannot be free of cost like free air. The pace is slow at present, no doubt. Hope, I have answered all points more
