Solutions to improve workings of Online Travel Sites

Below are some of the key issues outlined by you in regards to travel web sites in India. Kindly review them and share specific solutions that must be implemented to fix these issues. We look forward to your inputs.

Issues with Online Travel Sites

1.They issue misleading advertisements
2.Their prices have many hidden conditions
3.They show a particular flight price to attract the customer but when the person tries to book it, it says fare has increased
4.Most of them charge a big convenience fee for booking
5.They add the convenience fee without telling the consumer right at the time of entering the OTP for credit/debit card
6.If there is a modification or cancellation, they charge convenience fee again
7.The cancellation fee and rescheduling fee needs to be rationalized
8.Refund sometimes takes many days
9.Travel sites automatically store the payment details of the buyer
10.Fly by night travel sites pop up quite often and fleece the consumer
11.Photos displayed on the sites are different from actuals
12.Complimentary breakfast is very bad in few hotels. Detail should be mentioned in inclusion list
13.The complaint redressal procedures for many sites are weak
14. Data leakage from these sites also happens quite frequently, more

Some travel agents are only accepting cash and cheque and refuse card payments. They also quote one price in their advs and subsequently say that that tour is full and we have to take the more expensive one. more
1.The most important point is that the travel agency should be registered with the tourism department. 2.It is observed that some travels book tickets and take advance money and later on you know it is bogus and the customer loses all the money booked. 3.There should be heavy penalties for such fraudsters 4. Any deviations in hotel category i. e. When lower accommodation provided it should be paid back to the customer. Most of the rules are in favour of travel agency and not the customer more
yes it needs to be and should be added to the code which govt has drafted more
So then are these the so called acche din - govt of india? how much careful can people be specially the generations not born out of technology? then go buy all face to face only why not? more
Govt should standardise 5 or so diff kinds of package. Like 1= All inclusive, customer pays nothing from airport to airport, 4-5 star hptels, great buses, all meals 2= 3 star hotel, BF + dinner, all entries extra, transport from 1st point , say London to London If we have such standardised tours then chances of cheating go down more
