Stent Pricing

I believe local circles members did good work last year and now stent mrp has to be disclosed. Also Govt cappling pricing of stent has been positive step. Now the problem is only one. Companies that make premium stent products are saying they wont sell their stents in India because of price cap. What should happen is that intl stent companies should be required to sell their premium products (above basic quality ) in india at their selling price in country of origin plus duty charges and sell all basic products at price capped by govt.

This way all who can afford a 1.5 lakh stent can still get it at a reasonable price. If govt doeent do anything then an stent above basis will not be available in India. more

This is nothing but a blackmail by the vested interest in Medical Profession who have pressurized the stent company to give such an obnoxious statement. FINE...what Government must do now is to black-list those companies who are threatening or refusing to sell their premium product and encourage local players in this field so that it creates employment opportunities besides giving Make in India a real sense. Also all our Neta's and political leaders should take a pledge and have Indian stents in them to give them a feeling of being Indian in real sense. more
Let there be different pricing for stents, but there should be MRP on it. more
invite manufacturer for manufacture stent in india and ask them as they can export it. government to give tax exemption will solve problem more
Indian market is quiet big, wait for some time, bigger international companies will also come out with some solution. more
I fully agree more
STENT MANUFACTURERS, HAVING TASTED BLOOD ARE TRYING HARD TO PUT A SPOKE IN THE GOVT'S SCHEME BY REFUSING TO SELL THEIR SUPERIOR QUALITY STENTS IN THE LOCAL MARKET. GOVT WILL WATCH THE SITUATION FOR A FEW MONTHS AND IF THE STENT MANUFACTURERS DO NOT "FALL IN LINE", GOVT SHOULD WITHDRAW ALL EXPORT BENEFITS TO THEM UNLESS, THEY OFFER 50% OF THEIR SUPERIOR QUALITY STENTS IN THE LOCAL MARKET. I AM SURE, SOME RULING PARTY MINISTER WILL NOT FALL PREY TO "INDUCEMENTS" FROM THE STENT MANUFACTURERS AND NOT BRING IN THIS NOTIFICATION GAZETTE. IN ANY CASE, WE HAVE A HOPE IN NAMO WHO SHOULD ALSO BE WATCHING THE EVENTS UNFOLD IN THE MARKET...!!.. more
