It is a cheap tactics by the service provider to earn so money at the cost of disturbing others. more
Telecom company does nothing much on this front. Who is leaking the numbers? Its a business. I too get about 10 such calls / msgs. Vodafone is pathetic in it despite me registering for DND 0. There should be an online system or direct number to fwd such uncalled for messages. more
Just approach to your service provider to make an SMS of "STOP" all these massages. The concern person will provide you the relevant Number - just make a SMS and you will get read of this. more
Had the very same problem with Vodaphone. So, had ported out to Airtel. The latter seem to be worse. While registering they (Airtel) registered me as some Mukesh but, my surname is Mukherjee! This had resulted me being without any mobile connection for over a week while travelling. Having confronted them after my return I was told that the changes in my registration would be effective only after 3 months. It is now over 4 months! What is more, during this period I had requested them (Airtel) to enforce DND on two occasions but spamming SMSes still keep coming. It turns out that Airtel are worse than Vodaphone. To add salt to the injury, an automated call came to my handset the other day to pay my pre-paid bill before due date for continued service! But, my account is POSTPAID! Any advice? Thanks. more
Yes. this is a nuisance. Why can't there be a penalty for the operator in case we have opted for a DND advise more
