Trai has disturbed the Cable & DTH market

Trai has disturbed the Cable & DTH market by implementing higher rates its a game plan of trai and DTH companies. earlier i used to see almost all chanells SD and HD(may be 500 chanells) in Rs 702/- per month. now in Rs 699/- under Mega HD package in which i am getteing only 150 channels. so channel reduced but not the money. all the people are silient DTH operator ealier sell inclusive of all now rates + NFC_ GST which is going higher.

This market has been disturbed for Jio DTH Launch as Mr sharma always support Jio and govt too. this time all DTH operator getting share so they are silent. now you will pay higher for few channels then for all channels jio can charge higher like Rs 500/- or Rs 700 /-or Rs 1000/-as of now few people were paying less so jio could not be cheap for consumer. now you pay higher and crying then jio can offer relief at higher prices.

even Airtel is not allowing to add channel in current package saying change yr plan or choose throgh a-la-carte basis then price will be higher then its profitable for all DTH service provider, broadcaster and govt through GST. customer is suffering in this entire game plan of Trai. more

What is the purpose of changing the rules. It is said that the customer can select the channels. Generally such freedom must give benefit to customer. But unfortunately the new method gives benefit to the channel people and the service provider. What is the purpose of changing rules is not understood. I trust these rule makers also pay cable bill. During all these days I have not seen a single customer happy with the new rules. 1 .All free channels must be provided for the minimum amount of Rs 130+tax. 2. depending on the commercial time during the transmission the channel cost be decided. More the commercial break less the cost of the channel. 3 If commercial time exceeds the limit that channel must be a free channel more
I fully agree with your views. Ultimately what we pay is more than what we were paying earlier. Further it contains some unnecessary channels which we are unable to delete. The Tatasky web site has provision only to add or modify but not to delete. Their helplines express their inability to delete. It is very disgusting. What I suggest that there should be a user friendly way of making a pack at TRAI website and there should be provision to direct that pack to DTH provider. This will ensure a control on DTH providers. more
To understand the thing in full, please browse https://main.trai.gov.in/whats-new which gives al l details, incuing prises for each channel, bouqyet etc and then come here again more
I think TRAI has spoiled the show completely. There is no relief to the consumer. On the contrary for the same content charges have been increased to very high level. more
Yes, TRAI has not done justice to consumers. Expenses of all the consumers have increased. I have two suggestions: (1) NCF charges of ₹130+GST are too high and should be reduced to ₹ 30+GST and each consumer should be provided 5 DD channels of his / her choice free. (2) Consumer must be free to select channels (FTA/Paid) or packages as he / she likes from the list of packages / channels (mix up of channel/packages allowed) and pay for the channels / packages selected as per the prescribed fee. more
