Recently I had a minor accident on my car Maruti Alto K10. When I placed my car for repairs, accident valuer said that only quarter plate will be covered in the insurance since my car had pre-inspection at the time of taking insurance and those photographs shows scratches on the rear bumper, at present that bumper is broken in the accident but that was not approved. more
I had given my activa for servicing n repairs to activa agency at Pune in camp after I collect n check what jobs are done plus oil has been put in d engine but after a month d bike engine seized reason no oil in engine more
I endorse Ramamani’s views. Besides this I have experienced lack of parts with the authorized service centres. In my Vento fuel injector had to be replaced. It took more than a week to get. A rear windshield had to be replaced. It took almost 10 days. I requested for less expensive windshield without defogger but I was told that once they input the serial number of car, I cannot get any other part than what is meant for that car. How can this be? Defogger is never used, then why should it be compulsory? Almost 7 year old Honda City recently had fuel pump problem. Cannot find pump in market. Authorized service centre in Madurai took 7+ days to get the part for replacement. Jetta had one window control switch problem. I had to buy very expensive full control unit with all 4 switches to replace one switch. Again had to wait for more than a month. Hyundai radiator cap was missing so I went to Hyundai service centre to purchase one. He refused to give me until I give the vehicle serial number! Should not minimum spares worth at least one car be maintained by each service centre? Or there should be at least one spare part stock centre in each city for each manufacturer to provide quick service. Why should sale of parts be so tightly controlled by manufacturers? Why cannot they sale parts to anyone who want to buy genuine part and repair his vehicle by third party experts or himself? There should be some standards set for these manufacturers and strictly monitored for compliance. more
Every vehicle manufacturer takes you ' for a ride ' when it comes to ' servicing and repairs of the cars '....In case of the S. Korean/Japanese vehicles - the spare parts are just not available outside their own servicing centers and almost all the servicing centers are ( indirectly ) owned or controlled by the manufacturers. Central Govt. has been a mute spectator to this exploitation by these foreign manufacturers and the " enforcement " Agency's work and Work culture has been nothing but " pathetic ". The vehicle makers have been having a " Free Run"..!!..leaving the general public at " lurch "..!!.. This is not specific to the Vehicle manufacuring sector alone but could also be seen in the field of Mobile Telephony, in the field of Satellite Tv, and even in the recent case of Digital Network. The Govt. conducts the Spectrum Auction - Earns its Revenues ( and the personal Commissions ) and VANISHES....leaving general public like us, in the middle of the Road. more
True there is problem in getting the proper servicing of vehicles done because either the supervisors are in too hurry to note down our complaints or they cannot understand the exact problem. The result is that they do the repairing/servicing which we had never asked for & ask us to pay very high charges. If there is proper check list of the problems generally faced by the users then it would definitely sove our problem. Also why should the Service Centre charge us the prices of spares almost double the prices prevailing in Auto Market. The principals should make sure that the Franchisers are not charging more than the recommended charges. more
