It all depends on the facts of your particular case. The Bank will unduly put pressure on you for recovery. But if you prove that it was a fraudulent without any of your mistake, then the Bank cannot recover this amount from you. However, you will have to have patience and pursue your case. more
Arora Ji, 1. the owner of the card is completely responsible for any kind of transaction made on it 2. In case of loss of card the owner is expected to call a toll free number to block it 3. You have not mentioned details of transactions - you can get the details from the credit card people 4. there was no such article which mentioned the owner of the credit card need not pay except there are riders to that aspect (hence you may want to read the article again Sir) 5. FIR should have been lodged within the time frame given in the welcome kit (credit cards have different time frame but usually varies between 24 hours to 72 hour) - however more important is the call to the call center - did you make it - do you have the complaint number - if you have followed the rules or approach mentioned by the credit card sir you need not pay a penny - you can go legal only and only if you have ensured 100% compliance else you may end up getting a notice from the credit card company more
The bank is not at fault. Credit card supplier has to bear it. I had a fraudelent series of debits on my card. I called up the credit card supplier and complained. Within a few days they had credited back the amount to me. more
Also simultaneously you can file Complaint with Consumer Forum for compensation. Pl. be noted both actions are separate from each other more
Your Bank has to clear it of, except it is proved that the fault on your part. First and foremost, pl. lodge the FIR with E.sale of the police, local police station may guide you in the matter. You can lodge your complaint online also. Wait for a week to get your FIR. If the FIR is not get lodged wait for a week to approach to DCP of higher Authorities with you fresh complaint attached with old complain. Even further the FIR not get lodged you have to file private complaint with local Court OR make application U/s 156 (3) for suitable directions. more
