Water bottles being sold higher than MRP

Water Bottles continue to be sold at rates multiple times higher than MRP printed on the bottle. Pl see the item 4 in the attached bill from Cafe Cassia on Gangdhar Chetty Road, Bangalore. 1 Ltr Bislery Bottle (Item #4) charged at Rs.78.68 + 12% GST = Rs. 88.12 as against MRP of Rs. 20/-, a mark up of 4.4 times. As a B2B sales, and buying in bulk, these hotels get a big discount on MRP.
Not all Hotels listen to the complaints. Some are very arrogant when approached, as this one was. Their explanation "Management has discussed and agreed to charge this rate."
Since most go with families, there is reluctance to see the matter through. These hotels take this as the weakness and get away with the looting.
This is happening in almost all the big hotels. We have experienced it in Shirdi, Bangalore among other places in the last 30 days.
The Govt must take action seriously in this MRP issue. Other wise where is the sanctity of the MRP law if it can flouted with such impunity. more

This magic are all done with the help of area political parties and top officials of that hotels circles. I asked the hotel manager. He is telling, the rate like that, if you want buy. Who is going to stop this. Like this so many more

First of all, MRP is a self-declared figure by the manufacturer, no Govt. accredited body goes into the exercise of working out the MRP with manufacturer. This is the main problem of GST, it is only for filling up the coffers of Govt.(in paper), actually to allow organized extortion by Govt. staff and by offenders for their benefit. If you pursue, nothing will happen. In India to bring anybody to book you have to go to Court & even a child knows the condition there, justice delayed is justice denied. Request everybody to read my FB post under Community Centre to know about this problem: Forget GST, Income tax and all others. let's have only Transaction Tax. Till then, God help us. more

THE "WATER BOTTLE SCAM" HAS BEEN ONE OF THE BIGGEST SCAMS OPERATING IN THE COUNTRY. THIS SCAM REALLY CATCHES CUSTOMERS AT THEIR "WEAKEST" SINCE MANY OF THEM GO ALONG WITH THEIR FAMILY AND NATURALLY, MOST OF THE ELDERS DO NOT WISH TO "CREATE" A SCENE IN THE PRESENCE OF THEIR WIFE AND ALSO CHILDREN OF "IMPRESSIONAL AGE". THE HOTELIERS ALSO TAKE UNDUE ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION AND CHARGE RECKLESSLY. MY QUESTION TO THE GOVT. AUTHORITIES IS " WHY ARE YOU ALLOWING THIS "LOOTING" TO TAKE PLACE IN SUCH AN OPEN MANNER..??.. REMEMBER, IF YOU STAND UP AND ASK THE MANAGER IN A "LOUD VOICE" FOR JUSTICE, THE MANAGER (sometimes..!!..) BUCKLES DOWN..!!..
