Welcome to the Anti-Profiteering circle

This circle, founded by the National Anti-Profiteering Authority enables consumers to report profiteering activities by businesses under the GST regime.

You are being given access to this circle based on your interests and preferences on LocalCircles. Just in case, the subject is no longer of interest, you are welcome to leave the circle. If you want to invite others you may share the link below with them:
http://bit.ly/antiprofiteering-community

So if you observe that GST is being charged to you above MRP or the businesses are not passing the benefits of Input Tax Credits to you, you may share the same in this circle with as much detail as possible. Soon you will also be briefed on the formal and latest profiteering complaint mechanism and how Input Tax Credit works and products/services where consumer cost should be going down.

The circle will focus on driving systemic changes and enforcement such that consumer benefits are maximised under the GST regime. more

Not a single one of you has pointed out the government indulging in profiteering by raising petrol and diesel prices. more
Well its High Time!.... but i tell you what as the elections draw close the prices will drop not to satisfy customers but to reduce costs on the campaigns that these politicians will be conducting at the time more
Derek Mirror Now's Faye D'Souza has done a wonderful job through media at her prime time show: Urban Debate ( 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.) putting the Center & Petroleum Ministry as also the BJP spokesperson on the mat on this very topic. more
1. A lot of businesses do not raise a bill, but collect the payment by credit card. This was at an optical store. Then, the trade will be shown to some item that had a smaller tax rate. 2. Have seen multiple instance where, the expensive items are not part of the bill, therefore those items are charged in a second swipe of the card. In this case, the value of the items that were not billed but charged on a second swipe of the credit card was about 1800 rupees in a liqour store. 3. Have seen this in super markets also. more
Like what the CEO of the Face Book has admitted with the US lawmakers, "Face Book did not do enough to prevent misuse", The government must seriously introspect its lenient attitude post demonetization and post the roll out of the GST. In both cases there has been rampant misuse of the leniency. Honest people always suffer because of the misuse of anything. For example, so much of security and frisking in air travel is unnecessary if everyone was honest and law abiding. It results in inconvenience, huge cost, which is passed on to the air travelers, and extra precious time. But the airlines and the government do not have any other option. Now everyone understands. Similarly, the government must explain to the people in such a manner that everyone understands, in spite of additional difficulties faced, that such measures are necessary to prevent leakages and misuse. more
There is not a single politician that will have the courage to do what FB CEO did. Firstly none of them are educated enough to understand this whole gamut and the educated do not have any competition or a stand up person to challenge them and tell them that they are wrong. When a 'Chaiwala' can become the 'Prime Minister' for a period of 5 years out of which he decides to visit all the countries possible except Pakistan to build relations it is clearly evident that the government is more interested in the ruling party holding power than the progress of the nation. Soon after elections they fail to realise that they have been elected by 'WE THE PEOPLE' 'WE' need to come first and not any other country more
least boothered department,no placards on all selling points put up to file complaint, displaying phone numbers,e mail id etc. more
Good initiative, but there is a general impression that GST implementation team is not effective. more
