Railway Coaches and wagons

Rodents are found not only in goods wagons but also in AC & Sleeper class coaches. It is within the jurisdiction of the Railways to organise the eradication of rats on a war footing. As a matter of fact, I have seen rats roaming even in so called prestigious trains such as Tamilnadu Express, TN Sampark Kranti Express. If you don't notice the movement of rats in moving trains it is likely to bite the pieces of luggage carried by the passengers by the time they get down at the destination.

Most of the South Indian trains are running with dirty and very old coaches. I don't know why this Nelson's eye attitude on South Indian Railways. Any new coaches, new engines, new schemes are all to Mumbai-Ahmedabad route, or else to UP, Bihar and W.Bengal states. This attitude is there for so many years. We thought that this will change with the coming of BJP Government Narendra Modi as PM and Suresh Prabhu as Railway Minister. Same thing is continuing even now. For them it seems that South Indians are aliens. No projects are sanctioned, or even if started they take hell of time to finish. We ask for so many trains, but they start trains which no one ask. Even if the trains are started, they keep the timings in such an odd way that no one board these trains. The less said the better about Indian Railways in South India

It is better to appoint one travelling scavenger for each train to clean rest rooms at frequent intervals till the train reachs its destination.

Last month I was travelling from Bhubaneswar to Chennai and to my surprise, the maintenance of the latrine even in AC Ii tire coach is very bad. The private maintenance staff should be advised properly. Some of the plugs in the coaches are not working and I have already submitted a complaint and so far the acknowledgement has not come from Railway.
