ALLOW WOMEN TO CARRY PEPPER SPRAY FOR SELF DEFENSE

With increasing cases of Molestation, Rape and Rape & Murder in all over India, the Government should consider permitting women to carry 35 gm Pepper Spray for Self Defense.
In places of employment where women are required to work during night time, employers should supply pepper spray to them.
There is no specific law in India with regard to usage of pepper spray being a dangerous weapon, however Karnataka High Court ruled that Pepper spray can be a deadly weapon, and can’t be used for self-defense based on a US Court decision.
It is to be noted that pepper sprays and pepper gels are legal in all 50 states of USA, to carry and use for personal protection, some states and local areas have specific regulations pertaining to the size, formulation, and possession of pepper sprays and gels.
Request Local Circles to take up this issue with Central Government for safety of women. more

Why can't there be mandatory defence training to girls during the school time !! It is too simple to implement. more
Hello Scholars, If there would have fear of Laws & Rules, Court in Peoples mind then all crimes wouldn't have happened. Hindian Court will never allow any person to carry swords, knife But when the peoples uses it, what happened. If You are poor then go to jail. If you have money go to Highly paid Famous advocates. Court will punish you simply to write essay on how knife is dangerous for like. Now it is the time or to carry highly toxic weapons for self defense. Also Kafirs are Impotents. There is No unity to teach lesson to criminal on the Spot. Have you heard that other religion ladies are raped & murderer by Kafirs ? No that kafir will be turn into Khima in next few minutes in spite of Police presence. more
Pepper sprays are essential for women to carry. I do not understand why 90% plus search Google for Porn videos as reported by news channels. They must be having a pernicious influence on their minds and they seek release by all kinds of ghastly deeds against women. These porn videos are presumably watched in Africa, Europe, USA but they do not result in atrocities against women. Why? Our educational and law enforcement systems? more
People need to address the problem. Self defence mechanisms like pepper spray are deterrents but not wholistic solutions. As I see it this has to start with our education system and the general ethos. When you talk of equality between genders but reserve seats or waive fares, the message that is sent is that is one of inequity. We can sort these issues as we move more towards a level playing field between genders. That may take a very long time and till such time we have to do with better security, enforcement, surveillance, monitoring and protection. Education, removing gender barriers and swift punishment are immediate needs. If crimes against women take years to resolve, or perpetrators roam scot-free, what message goes out to society at large? Some of these matters are non-negotiable and courts/government should not be making a mockery of it. Why does it take so long to decide such matters? That itself is a bigger crime. Pepper spray, stun guns and the like, private security are all steps which are similar to taking law into ones hands. The system has to be more resilient than making everyone to think of themselves which is nothing short of leading to anarchy. Also, people getting selectively sensitive is not going to help. There are a large number of cases each day in our country which are in itself deplorable. This has to stop becoming a periodic discussion and firm steps need to be initiated right now. more
Pepper is a good idea for momentary relief. Until and unless girls and women get consous, there is no remedy. Instead of going in religious meetings of Dharmacharyas, they should be trained for self defence and make it a habit by exwercising it by practice.
