Beware of cheating at petrol pumps
Just wanted to warn everybody to be carefully watch the meter reading and don't distract while the petrol is filling because many petrol pumps (specially in UP) stop the machine at 70 to 75% completion of petrol and will reset the machine in a way to show the total amount.
This happened to me and I caught the guy red handed and spoke to Manager. His manager promised to take action but I told him on his face that this guy can't cheat without you being evolved.
On 23rd Sep 2016, I stopped at India Oil petrol pump (JRO COCO) in Greater Noida, opposite to Moser Baer factory for filling Rs. 1000 petrol.
During petrol filling, one of the guy came towards the driving seat and started engaging me in discussion in pretext of some offers. I suspected and realized that he has not filled petrol fully. When I threatened him that he is cheating, he said that there is problem in machine, but he could not stand longer and I had to take him to his manager. He accepted that he did cheating on me by stopping machine at Rs. 754.49. Later he filled the rest of the petrol and said sorry.
Attached are both receipts. This practice is very common in Noida and surrounding areas due to poor law and order situation. more

It is serious as cheating is taking place and people pointd it out , I hope government must wake up and screw properly and total system of petrol pumps. more

Company people at the petrol pumps are useless people.They don't bother & provide lip service only and are careless as there is no accountability.. more

At every Petrol Pump in India there is information about the officers of the oil company incharge of the dispensing station. Names and contact details are mentioned. You are allowed officially to fill the petrol yourself in the 5 litre can. Even you can operate the dispensing machine at the pump. If you have a problem, contact the officer concerned and call him up on the site or lodge the complaint. more
