Confectionery shops and vendors charging over MRP

Many a times i have found that confectionery shops and vendors charge consumers over MRP on cold drinks and water bottles. After being asked that it is illegal and why are they still doing so , their reply is that they have to pay for refrigeration and offer some bribe to police and ultimately consumer is left with no other option as all the nearby shops and vendors are doing so in that locality. What should a consumer do in such a scenario? more

Report the seller to mrtpc,and lodge a complaint if overcharging and send copy to police saying the narration made by the seller without your name. He will be taken care of. more

If possible don't purchase from that guy. If necessary, pay as asked for but take a bill/cash memo. PL. NOTE THAT ON MRP FROM ANY VENDOR/SHOP NO EXTRA CHARGE EITHR OF REFRIGERATIN OR SERVICE IS APPLICABLE. Then lodge a complaint with the Controller of Legal Metrology with bill/cash memo. Let the law take its own course. more
