GST cancellation

Nephew had applied for GST cancellation a couple of months back but continues to receive notices from GSTN for failure to file monthly return. His accountant tells him that GST office will not process the application without a bribe. Is there a way to do it honestly? more

Naina as I mentioned before cancellation even after filing normal routine returns, one need to submit a final GSTR 10 return based on which the cancellation action will go through. more
There is nothing as the Accountant of your Nephew has told to him. There might be some liability or pendency of any legal formality as the GST registration is not cancelling and the department is issuing notices for filling GST Returns Please tell your Nephew to contact me either on Mobile or through E-mail to solve his problem. My Mobile number is 9899390850 and E-mail ID is adv.sanjeevgoel@gmail.com more
All jobs can be done online. Please see google. more
Hi Naina, I have nothing to comment on the situation at GST office. But I can share my personal experience. Five years back I cancelled my GST registration and it got actioned without any visit or otherwise. Yes I also realised that before closure there is one final return which needs to be submitted without which the cancellation action might not take place. more
You have to deposit the GST which you had taken as input on the stock in hand then only it will be done. The system is online. more
