GST GOING DIGITAL
I just paid my Property Tax to the MCD. While the convenience of paying online is there, what comes as a surprise is that over above the Tax , there is a levy , when paid online. There is no other option , so you hav to pay by credit or Debit card . I think it is highly unfair that an extra Rs.135/ is added on to the amount and shown as Postal charge.
Paying online means the money is straight away credited to their account.
Why should there be this levy , which shows up as Postal charge ?
Is this Govt. trying to promote digitsation or in this new avtar fleecing those who pay online ?
Already HDFC bank has sent an SMS to inform that the service charge will be 18% from 01-07-2017. We were all under the impression that GST will make taxes uniform , but did not realise that everything will be more costly more

I think this issue is discussed in local circles from long time ,we are just repeating our anguish and frustration but paying huge service charges as usual ,now again important is what extent government is serious for our problems or it is just elaborated and sit calmly. I feel certain government circles is highly unprofessional and they donot see or view long term benifits, rather more concerned to collect as much as pissible from tax payers without realising how painful for middle class tax payers to live and cope families. more

Yes there is no justification to charge even a single paisa. In fact therebneed to be an incentive of paying through internet banking as there is a cost reduction in online transactiions. Secondly madam you will be surprised to know that most of the corrupt lprone departmenta are not accepting the online payment. One of exapmples is of Transport Deptt in Haryana. I have sent many reminders to Transport Commissioner and Chief Minister without any success. One of the customer has to pay Rs. 62000 in hard cash during demonetisation. more

It is really astonishing that on one side Govt. wants to encourage Digital Banking and on the other side unnecessary Service Charges are levied. It should be between the Bank and the MCD to chalk out the absorption of Service Charges at their own level itself. How much time / energy / efforts / manpower at the level of MCD is saved by people paying House Tax online. If all reach at the Office of MCD whether they would be in a position to even handle proplerly, I doubt. One side they give concession for making online payment and on the other side for online payment they make a charge. How officials in command, think and implement the policies, really is beyond a comman man's understanding. more

On one side Govt wants to encourage digital payments on the other side charges are levied. Someone in govt must coordinate to ensure that different department s do not levy any extra charge for digital payments. This needs to come as an instruction from the PMO or finance ministry. Left hand does not know what right hand is doing so a coordination department is required in government. more
