Railway Minister Should Try Using IRCTC Website Once For Booking Tatkal Train Tickets

That Website/App Doesn’t Work at 10 AM

All Tickets Mostly Gone By The Time You Login

And They Haven’t Been Able To Fix in a Decade more

There is no transparency in seat availability. An LHB train with 10 sleeper coaches has 800 seats (not counting RAC). If the train has multiple remote location booking stations, then this could get scattered. Otherwise the full capacity minus tatkal (it was supposed to be certain percentage of total availability?) should be available. But you never see this availability. You may get into RAC/WL at around 400. However you may find lot of seats vacant after charting. A picture of scarcity is portrayed, forcing people to opt for tatkal or agents to get seats. more

There had been numerous complains during last couple of years regarding Tatkal ticket booking but the railways have apparently done a little to ensure that the benefit of tatkal tickets is available to the genuine travelers by keeping it away from middle men/dalal. The railways is apparently , suffering from lack of will to ensure 100% availability of the facility to genuine travel seeking people . more

This rail minister has legalised the TATKAL ticket by AGENT only,general public can not book at that time but AGENTS are booking NOS. of ticket at 10 A.M.,This is not technical issue,it is all ethical issue which has been kept aside by THIS government.The govt. is not bothered about general public,instead they are also involved in this TATKAL racket. more
