Prioritise Wait List Passengers For Confirmed Tatkal Tickets

Indian Railways should give first right of refusal to Wait List Passengers to Convert WL Tkts To Confirmed Tatakal Tkts. This can be done by sending an SMS and Email asking for confirmation and payment. A Special Time Window only for this transaction should be made available to WL Tkt Holders Only. more

Well the Railways are earning well charging almost 30% excess for Tatkal. So the suggestion will not cut ice. Also I have observed and from my experience, the Tatkal is a backroom gateway for Agents to do bulk bookings and block tickets....earlier they used touts to stand in queue but now they do it smartly through High Speed Internets...so if you try booking through mobile data or even home wifi, the IRCTC NextG site itself would not Open to facilitate bookings. Not that Railways are unaware of this, they are turning a blind eye as most such Booking Centers are either connected to some MP or MLA who can pull the strings if anything goes adverse. more
Good suggestion more
Correct suggestion, don't know whether they will accept the suggestion? Now-a-days, its became a practice that a huge numbers, more than 70, being MARKED as W/L . And fate of these W/l tickets will come into light after the list is published, before 2 and above hrs. If you cancel the ticket huge charges will be in force, if railway could not provide birth and the ticket is being cancelled automatically, then minimum charged will be recovered. To know the fate of the same you have to wait till result is being published....which is horrible. Authority can change the system instead of looking for money. more
Good suggestion. more
