Indian Railways Catering

Railway pantry car can be rated as the most bogus & infirior of the all food suppliers you can think of. Pantry cars are the most dertiest of all places where food is prepared. They are the most corrupt 7 cheaters who cheat the people in every way. They only are not responsible. Also responsible are the railway officials and the politicians who are well connected to them. This railway officials and politicians want their share fro pantry car operators. They in turn will cheat people to make money they are giving as bribe. There are many good co operative institues which can take up the cattering of railways and can provide good service. But railway officials will never do that as they will then loose thier income. This things are going to continue as it is and nothing will change.

Catering is an art and that's why catering Institutes. Not only caterers, railways too does not have people who are competent enough to monitor this area. A mechanical, electrical or a civil engineer in not right to manage such area. Further, those who are qualified hotel management education and experience with similar trained staff should only qualify for such contracts. The current scenario is bad.

Need lot of improvement in the catering area in in all long distance trains by quality & hygiene foods. instead of selecting bigger companies in each state we should promote home foods divide into district wise . we can encourage ladies also in district wise. IRCT should take more steps . we can improve. un employement people are more local areas. for example Mumbai dabbawala
