Safety and cleanliness are the top 2 features that I am interested in. In the last 30 days my friend and myself became victim of missing safety in the trains. Though I understand many of us face these situations but I thought to bring up this issue here so can be noticed. I think the door of all the railway compartments must be upgraded with the swipe card doors. IT can be handy to provide security in railway and also can reduce unauthenticated entries to compartments. Bar code can be printed on the rail tickets and can be used to swipe in to enter to the compartment. more
Cleanliness on Trains is to be done as it used to be earlier. I remember seeing the trains cleaned both inside and outside with soap or soap water, in the early 90's or till the end of that decade. Now we don't even see any clean coach. The train comes and some lady with a broom gets into the coach and cleans only what she finds on the seats or somewhere nearby, but not cleaning the coach fully, as the train will start in the next couple of hours from the same platform for its destination back. Few Examples are: 18463/18464 Prashanti Express at Bangalore City Station on a daily Basis, Kochuveli Express, Brindavan Express between Bangalore and Chennai, and some of the trains from Chennai Howrah Section like the 12839/40/41/42 Mail & Coromandel express. then 12863/64 YPR-HWH_YPR or vice versa. we also see these days some if the private agents travelling in trains for cleaning the coaches with some phenyl and other things. Surprising thing is they come with HIT or some room freshners in AC Coaches, what is the need to have these items if the trains are not cleaned properly. We are wasting money on all the guys and the procurement of these products to keep clean. more
sir it is almost 10 months since the new govt. is formed, but we are yet to see any of the improvement in following basic requirements. 1 running in time. 2 cleanliness of train and platforms 3 behaviour of railways workers towards their clients i e passengers. 4 reservation systems, i e we who pay money don't get reservation but all govt. imployees , ministers have quota and get reservation 100 % whenever they want and they travel free. 5 all platforms have VIP rooms for this class but the passengers who pay have the dirtiest and most crowded waiting rooms, why ? several such more things . when will they improve. sushil more
Item No.2 Cleanliness is guaranteed. The members of this circle have agreed to carry their own waste bin while traveling. See "9 things for all Railway Travellers". Item No.1. The remaining may or may not happen. Bullet trains will really come. See "Railway Budget 2015-16". Item No.15. more
