I hope in most of the trains 10 - 15 % free passes are given to railway employees / ministerial staffs. if these are charged 50% there will be more collections. As informed by more friends upper classes should be mainly for full payment passengers. more

In my opinion, on board Railway should start providing standard branded coffee & Tea from vending machine instead of "Aada cup sugar mixed mitti paani" supplied by pantry boys and if possible a mini restaurant (with pre-order/booking facility) initially at least in trains that cover above, 1500 KMs more

Your suggestion is a simple step to provide good quality drinking water to all passengers across the Indian railways network. The government should seriously consider it, as the day is not far, when, private agencies will set up such booths on the platform and sell the water at premium. It is also to be noted that the lobby of mineral water bottlers will pressurise the government against this idea. They obviously are going to be hit hard. more
