"India NEVER Sleeps"

To add to the PM's proposal to get 1.25crore people on the move, one of the simplest is to make changes so that India NEVER sleeps. Organized manufacturing sector already operates 24-hours through 3-shift operations. All manufacturing and services can also move to 24-hours, 3-shift operations if the power- and other infrastructural constraints are removed.

I have said it elsewhere, to start with ALL government services should start operating 24-hours to clear backlogs and to speed up processes.

Additional resource utilization + the higher productivity of those resources can easily push India's real growth rate well beyond 10% for a sustained period of 10 to 15 years.

Added to the "adarsh gram" programs that he has asked his MPs to implement, "India NEVER Sleeps" program will surely bring more than 500 hundred million Indians out of poverty.

For the other programs that the PM mentioned - toilet for girls in every school, elimination of social and economic discriminations, import substitution by every small and medium enterprise, clean India - these need to be tracked on a weekly, monthly, quarterly basis to make sure that programs are truly being implemented in a sustainable manner. Otherwise, toilets will be built and then fall into disuse through sheer negligence and lack of maintenance (not to mention malpractices, i.e., funds meant for toilet maintenance will be go to various 'pockets' instead of proper upkeep of those toilets. more

Yes,agreed. more
No school should be permitted to function without toilets for all and drinking water. Its a shame to have such schools anywhere in India even now! more
Well said, utilizing all capital investments made by the Government as well as the private bodies on 24X7 basis including those on massive concrete infrastructures would lead to increased productivity. We should open up computer labs, learning labs, libraries in schools and colleges to the needy in the neighborhood on 3 shifts. There are so much of investments already done by state governments building toilets in select schools including rural belts. Step No.1 should be to audit these constructions and the current state. Citizens could help to a great extent in highlighting such mis-appropriations in their respective villages. Let the culprits re-build the toilets again and bring it to a usable state. So is the case of drinking water projects in schools. more
First of all we need reforms in Legal System for faster justice. As far as possible paper work needs to be reduced. No postponement of dates in case the case is listed. Courts should work extra hours. All senior citizen cases should be cleared first. For senior citizen cases extra courts needs to be created. more
