15% drivers failing alcohol test at end of journey
Newspapers are reporting that 15% of the train drivers are failing alcohol test at the end of train journey which means these drivers are doing drunk driving of trains.
Each train has 1500-2000 passengers who are at risk with every drunk driver.
Can this group brainstorm and give some serious inputs to Rail minister to implement. This cannot carry status quo. more

If it so, to discourage & stop drinking by Train Engine Drivers, suggest to randomly conduct Alcohol check through Breath Analyser during stoppages at major stations/junctions.It will hardly take a few minutes & if found drunk,strigent action against the erring driver is called for. more

I have retired from Railway, in Eastern Railway I have conducted many foot plate, never seen drivers are drunken. In past, i.e. before 30 to 35 years, it may happen but last 10 years I noticed no one. more

Let us not much interfere on this subject since rail accidents never proved drunken driving leading to rail accidents. Brainstorming sessions the drivers and assistant drivers could prevent the habit. more
