Tranquility of a residential area is synonymous with civilized population. Thus, allowing all shops to remain open will kill the culture of maintaining tranquility. Research has proven that noisy areas are harmful to physical and mental health, increased crimes, etc. Our countrymen may be surprised to know that flushing of toilets after 10 p.m or so, is prohibited in apartment buildings In Sweden. Any one found to break the tranquility by flushing a toilet between 10P.M. - 6 A.M. may land up in police custody for criminal offence. more
It may be useful in places where round the clock work in shifts( Like IT ) and international tourists are more. For normal residents it may not be useful. more
Sir, I think, eateries and bars MUST be closed by 11 P.M. at most. Except medicine and Ambulance services nothing is there that cannot be for seen and planed and provided in advance. Some of the Medicine shops are required to remain open 24 hours to facilitate citizens in case of emergency. It is undesirable to keep market open for bad elements to be served during their time of work. In my opinion, with the advent of on line marketing, it is quite unnecessary to provide for marketing at ghostly hours. RYK. more
I don't agree being a responsible citizen of country. more
The state govt seem to understand the implications of allowing shops in non residential areas to keep shops open 24x7 . The establishment owners who are will to take risk and profits are to represent if it is not feasible. The option is theirs. The consumer also understands the convenience of shopping and also the risks of late night hours . The law enforcement Agencies if functions double the times its normal capacity may understand and re evaluate the decision and its implications. Untill then it is a pilot study for the state govt and its departments . more
Opening select shops 24x7 does help some citizen who find it difficult to shop at regular hours. However, the convenience also depends on the distance and time taken from the residence to & fro, and the security at odd hours. more
