Stray dogs can be relocated to forest areas (in my opinion they should be euthanised, but many will object) where they can serve as food to leopards which now come into villages to search for food. But stray cattle and dogs roaming free on streets of cities only shows that we are still afflicted with third world mentality. I am not sure how many know this; the most dangerous animal in Australia is the Dingo (wild dog) hunting in packs, quite similar to the wolves of North America. So forget all this crap about dog being a man's best friend; they are nothing but domesticated wolves. more
Stray dogs are essentially wild. They generally do not bite unless they are instigated or they go mad. These dogs are not meant to be in inhumane urban areas and that is where the problems begin. There is apartheid between pet dogs and roadside strays. Dogs are also territory bound and can breed rapidly. A balanced approach is needed from society. Pet dogs are no better to strangers than strays. Dogs adore people who give them food. Their loyalties are driven by food. The rest of the problem is man-made. Humans cannot eliminate every other species and expect to survive in isolation. We have to respect a balance or face other difficulties in the process. Stray dogs have their role in the eco system. more

Many animal lovers will blame human beings for incident. This is an endless game. more
Specific methods along with budget to eliminate stray dogs from our neighborhood should be envisaged by the local bodies supported by funding from the central govt. more
