81413 cases today

Yesterday there were 81,413 new infections reported across India, highest single-day increase since October 1, 2020, as the second wave of Covid-19 continued to push cases to levels not seen in the country in at least six months.

See attached chart friends how this second wave curve looks much more aggressive than 2020.

My question is why are states not imposing non essential public place shutdowns in high case load districts as recommended by our circle?

Several of members comments are unqualified like irresponsible govt staff. No govt can physically reach every citizen to check if they follow covid guidelines. It is the duty of citizens and staff paid by govt. It is time that govt should not show kind to citizens of any kind like free ration lumpsum cash etc. Govt activities other than freebies should continue, like business, manufacturing, transport services etc. Travellers responsible to carry sanitizers during travel, all-time properly masked, etc. The crowded places should be controlled at 50℅ level. Unfortunately our staff are irresponsble, on finding lapse, staff should be dismissed from service. Without serious action, every year the situation will continue. So seriously check citizens and govt staff. more

The janata has just stopped caring. An infection for them is a 2 weeks paid holiday. more
The seriousness is missing in all spheres and people are prepared to face instead of getting locked inside the house. more
Both Government and People are to blamed for the mounting COVID cases. 1) Our Government (Central/State) never think about preventive steps. There is nothing called 'Lessons Learnt' in Government Parlance. They will always wait for the disaster to happen and depending upon the magnitude of the damage look for a temporary solution. They are also reckless in implementing the rules. Leaders don't set standards in following rules. They think they are above the law and have the right to go crazy.... For example, some of the states are facing elections and the campaigns there are providing 'Red carpet Welcome to Coronavirus'........ Irresponsible leaders and useless Election Commission.... Government is ready to postpone examinations, shut down businesses, impose curfew, etc but not elections?? Why???? The worst part is most of the leaders look for ways to make money even in a crisis situation like this one. 2) People, as is normal in our country, follow their leader's footsteps in going against the rules. Including me, we don't think its our duty to be responsible even during a grave situation like COVID Pandemic. Given a chance everyone wants to disobey the rules. more
