A lot of businesses not issuing GST compliant inv

Hi,
A lot of businesses are not putting in client's GSTIN on the invoice. In turn the client's (businesses) will not be able to input credit for the same, which in turn will mean that the cost of goods / services won't decrease. Some of the examples who don't put GSTIN of client's are:
Pizza Hut
Dominos
Restaurants
eCommerce websites

Is this practice legal ?

The registered person is bound to write his GSTN number and GSTN number of the registered buyer who is eligible to take input credit. This is applicable to B to B transactions and Not B to C transactions. more

Since 1st July GST is introduced & in the Bill Invoice no one can write VAT charged & if they are charging GST may be 18% or 28% then we should definitely ask for Bill Invoice with the proper GSTIN. If it is not there then it should be brought to the notice of Local Commissioner GST, who I am sure with the proper proof will definitely take action. more

Unless you are a registered reseller of these goods, you won't be able to get any ITC on these consumption goods. Most of the supplies by the supplier mentioned by you would be B to C and as such only the resellers, if any, being B2B would face this problem . more

I don't think so that only registered resellers can only take input credit. IT businesses buying Hardware for providing software services are taking Input credit for the same. more
