A TRICKY SITUATION IN KERALA ACCOUNTING FOR 60 % DAILY COVID 19 CASES :

A fairly small state in India with 2.5 % Population contributing 60% to the National daily Covid 19 Cases.

Though 55 % of the Kerala population has received at least one Jab till recently compared to 35% Nationally.
Yet prevalence of Antibodies only 44% compared to 67% Nationally.

How is it that the daily cases are so high despite so many vaccinated and so many in number infected the in in the second wave ?

LOCKDOWN RELAXATION LEADING TO INCREASED CROWDING DURING ALLOWED FESTIVITIES SAID TO BE THE CAUSE.THE OTHER IS HIGH TESTING ABOUT 2 LAKH TESTS DAILY.

Actually Kerala crossed 40,000 cases daily in May with a TPR of 28% (Test Positivity Rate).and in July came down to 11,000 daily cases. July August the graph is going up having reached 30,000 cases till 27th.

ISN’T THIS A THIRD WAVE OR AN INDICATION OF APPROACHING? more

It is a matter of great concern and the local government should act prudently. more
It is more of a first wave never abetting in Kerala. more
The state should kept under lockdown Permanently to avoid cases. more
What is so funny about my comments Mr.Daniel? Is it not the truth? more
It is high time now that the centre intervene and send a team of experts in disaster management to the state to make in depth study of the reasons responsible for the presence of such an alarming situation thereat at a time when the disease has been brought under control in other states. Once the reasons are earmarked, the state government should be compelled to strictly comply with the Covid guidelines keeping politics aside. Since presence of the disease at its peak in the state may endanger people of other states, particularly, the adjoining ones, quick proactive action for its control is needed. Had it been an indication of break down of the much talked about third wave, it would have a reflection atleast in the adjacent states by now. more
