Aadhaar Card

NEW DELHI: A Left MP today requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to "scrap" the Aadhaar project launched by the UPA government in the wake of reports that US security agency NSA was allegedly "collecting the biometric data of Indian citizens".

As per the News Extract Aadhaar would be Scrapped? Please do not Scrap the Aadhaar, please enhance the Security and improve the system whatever having currently. we have spent Crores of rupees on getting this Identity card, not only money and also time, if again step for other project it would Cost Crores and crores of rupees, instead please Plan to link the rivers from North to south, it would help thousands of Farmers and also we bring down difference between south Indian states and it may help to fight inflation in future on food products, if our farmers get sufficient water. more

Genuine AADHAR CARD is very useful for the Indian citizens. But it has been reported that for some vested interest, Aadhar card issuing agency use to issue the card to non eligible person eg. non Indian citizen, Person illegally migrated from Neighboring countries and some terrorists too. Government should locate such cases and cancel the card and penalize to the guilty issuing person. Minimum punishment should be life imprisonment with penalty (their entire movable and immovable property should be attached with fine). Such agency are anti-national and if law permits, they should be treated in the category of terrorists. more
Rightly said Mr. Neel Nawani more
After 3 years of much fanfare, and collecting biometric data, address proofs, etc. etc., the least Nandan Nilenkani could have done was to issue non-cloneable smart cards with a microchip containing the individuals' data in it, like a credit card or ATM card. In its present form, a simple cardboard ID card can be easily forged by illegal immigrants, and/or anti-social elements and misused for nefarious activities. Beats the whole purpose of a national ID card. Much like many other scams, maybe it was just a ploy of the past govt. to scam out huge sums of money from the exchequer. more
as aadhar roll out has already come half way, it is better to see its completion instead of starting things all over again with some thing new. if there are any gliches , it can be fixed. no one would deny the capabilities of Mr Nilekany who spearheaded the project and he may be requested to continue . more
