Action against VIP culture

I know LocalCircles stays actively against VIP culture. I want to bring to attention of esteemed members that In a rare gesture, President of India Droupadi Murmu walked about two kilometers to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath at Puri. Devotees greeted the President on her way to the temple.

This is how it should be. Leaders like Shivraj Chauhan move with 8 cars, some others with even more and here we have the President of the Country just walking a 2 km distance. Lets share an encourage this video. share with your MP or a. They should emulate the President. more

VIP Culture continues to prevail: Inputs Sought to address it
'Yesterday multiple members in different circles shared a video of an MP who recently was involved in delaying a flight by sitting on a protest because she didn\u2019t get a first class seat. These and many others like this are among the hundreds of examples we come across every year in India. Many of the members in this circle who were there in 2016-17 may remember how some of you raised the issue of eliminating red and blue beacons from vehicles which was taken up by LocalCircles (attached survey from Mar 2017). Subsequently in May, 2017, the Government announced the removal of beacons from vehicles of all lawmakers, bureaucrats and judiciary. Below are some of your past inputs on what other actions are needed to reduce VIP culture in India. Please review them and share specific inputs on what other areas suffer from VIP culture and the needed action. We look forward to your inputs! Further actions needed to eliminate VIP culture: 1) Removal of the word VIP from tens of thousands entrances, doors, lounges and entry gates 2) No VIP darshans at temples across India 3) Removal or Drastic Reduction of VIP\/EQ quota in Railways from current 80,000 seats per day. 4) Delay in aircraft or train departures due to VIP to have hefty penalties 5) Travel for families of VIP to be ticketed like common citizens 6) Any car with sticker VIP to be challaned by Traffic Police and spot removal of sticker 7) Only the top most 50 individuals at national level and 5 individuals at state level to get VIP security 8) All VIP passes for various events to be abolished.'

that is the legacy which we have inherited from our so called leaders who have ruled india after independence for so many years. It is not going to change immediately how much ever the present govt tries .We have a long way to go to remove this mindset. more
While I don’t entirely disagree with Sri Desai regarding security of national leaders, I entirely agree with Ms. Malavika. I believe that Security agencies can find suitable methods to ensure it even when they behave like a common citizen, which they actually are. more
Wish every Indian leader was like her: most infact 360 of her more
This should be an eye opener to our vip culture politicians and it is with out tax payers money that they get security and once voted they do not visit their constituency and are more active in how to make money for themselves. So much security is provided to corrupt people it is not worth it.I would suggest that for a start at least it should be reduced by half and it will save exchequer money and can be used for better purposes. Then gradually it should be reduced and also the facilities also since they do not deserve it and only if they do work for their constituencies should be given with the present rate of oils and also there should be a cap on the electricity and water and other perquisites since if it is free it is always mis used.Nothing should be free already they are getting money from which they can bear the same like common man more
As far as security of VIP is concerned, such activities from VIP not recommended at all. We have lost two Prime Ministers (Indiraji and Rajivji ) for not following the security direction given by the concerned authorities. more
