Air Conditioning after sales services

Most companies are quite poor and slow and expensive when it comes to service and repair of ACs and that is why so many of us rely on the local vendors.

Govt should form rules around response times for after sales services for most major white goods like ac, TV, fridge, washer etc.

The LocalCircles survey is capturing these issues well. Consumer Dept and BIS of Govt of India can easily act on this. Of they dont its a matter of their intent. We are giving them the issue. Now lets hope they will. more

This is due to poor vision of Mfg. Companies. They are paying high salary to their Peoples which they can;t solve these types of Problem. There is a simple solution on it. more
The government cannot get into everything. As it is, less than 5% of the citizens have access to Air Conditioning. It is a privilege. The market will have to address this issue as it is highly competitive. Brands that dont care will get a bad name and it will be self-balancing. I would expect the government to have a strong regulatory environment in place for such things. The regulator should have industry participation and not be another government department which provides lame jobs to disinterested people. more
Are these government employees? If not, why ask the government to formulate rules? The SLA (Service Level Agreement) is strictly a company's policy, not that of a government. more
There is no doubt that most of the branded companies are outsourcing the services and these people are ill paid unlike company service technicians. There is no assurance of quality service from anyone. Company technicians usually make attempts occasionally to make the consumers fool, once sensed their lack of knowledge on product. I had few occasions with LG and complained. Govt. can't frame policy on such matter as rules of the game of an individual company are different. Hence, it's the right way to have preliminary knowledge to avoid any conflict. more
