Ancestral/Family property taxation in budget is bad
Most important is indexation on real estate/property is gone with this budget. Now if you bought a property in 2004 for 25 lacs and plan to sell the same now. earlier you would have got benefit of indexation by way of inflation index, is now gone. So now if you sell for 2.5 crores , you shall pay LTCG on 2.25 crores. No indexation
What this will bring back?? cash dealing to avoid tax

Present govt since it has come has done nothing for the sr citizens and pensioners increasing the deductions as if they do not exist in their system.With inflation and prices keep on increasing and with medical expenses it would have been good if something is done for the sr citizens but looks like sr citizens do not exist for the present govt more

This is not applicable in inheritance to legal heirs but on sale of property. If a person is earning a profit of Rs.1.00 cr what is the harm in paying a tax of Rs.12.50 lac. more

But consider the reduction in LTCG on property sale.The nett difference will not be much. Simultaneously, it will benefit hugely those sellers who do not want to reinvest the sale proceeds in property but need the money for some other purpose. more
