Andhra Pradesh to Criminalise Sex Buying

AP has announced today that is will criminalise sex buying or prostitution. This is great news.

Can localCircles please conduct a poll on this subject. I am sure both sides have perspectives.

I personally would like to see it criminalised as it will drastically reduce traficking of women and children. more

It's a good move but before amending, it is very important to rehabilitate the sex workers and shutdown all the illegal brothels. This move will discourage human trafficking up to great extend may not be immediately but over some time. Most importantly human trafficking should be crminalized as hinious crime with hardest punishment. more
Positive steps to enhance female education and access to employment will have concrete results. Very often young women and children are forced into prostitution due to lack of avenues to education/employment. What about services like female escort service for male tourists visiting India? Is the Government of India monitoring their activity to ensure it does not involve prostitution? L.Kalavathi Retd. Bank Official Chennai, Tamilnadu, India 8th March 2018 more
It is easy to pass all the laws in the world in particular such as this and those banning cock-fighting during Sankranthi, Card playing during Diwali etc. The important thing that really matters is the attitudes, character and intelligence of the citizens of the country. Whatever the reason, these seem to be on the upswing. more
There are many meaningless laws in existence. It is not known the purpose if any but continue to exist and clutter the legal system. It is vital that these laws be corrected or repealed. It is necessary to identify these laws and determine the original purpose. If these useless laws are allowed to continue to exist they will be be misused and also cast a negative influence on the useful laws. more
Earlier Laws were so concluded that ill practices never end and the Widow Marriages that befitted Women amidst misuse in poverty after Kingdoms ruined and nation's wealth was looted under invasion. Many laws though appear to have one side up, there is cut-bottom [Nullity of Purpose] in reality . more
Yes. They must be convicted, those who indulge in selling or doing any kind of sex business. This in turn will promote mental, physical health of the Nation and may bring population under control. Awareness and responsibility might increase. Go for it. I conform to this. more
what is the plan to give them livelihood though we should ask Chandrababu NAidu? more
Why to give them livelihood. Govt should have an obligation to provide means of livelihood to those who want to work & live a dignified life ONLY. more
Basically to criminalize Purchase and Export of Female even through Marriage : Export of Women for Job and converting them into Adultery . more
