APPROPRIATE SEATS BE OFFERED FOR GROUP BOOKINGS:

I am attaching the lay out of the seating in 2 S [second seat ] as well as CC [Chair car] just for illustration purpose . This should be in the mind or flashed on the screen of IRCTC ticket booking staff , while allotting seats to tickets booked in GROUPS OF 2's , 3's, 5's and 10's .

When I traveled with my wife to Bangalore last fortnight in Double Decker by Chair car we were allotted seats 9 &10 . There was a family of 3 , they were allotted 6,7,& 8 . So one was allotted in the next seat .This happened close to each other so we swapped the 2 seater 6 & 7 and gave our , that is 9 & 10 part of the 3 seater . That resulted in we traveling next to each other and the family of 3 traveling together in the 3 seater .
But if it is not close , there will b a problem of re shifting the baggage , going up and down negotiating and so on.

The same way there will be bigger groups travelling in 4's and above . THE DESIGNERS HAVE DESIGNED SOME SEATS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COMPARTMENT SPECIALLY FOR THEM TO TRAVEL TOGETHER AND COMFORTABLY
[and also not be a hindrance to others ]
IRCTC SHOULD REALIZE AND ALLOT SUCH SEATS FOR GROUPS TRAVELING ACCORDINGLY.

So there should be provision in the booking soft ware to allot such seats as,
* for the 2's in the 2seaters
* for the 3's in the 3seaters
* for the ones more than 4's appropriately in the middle of the compartments.

- UTILIZE THE DESIGNED FACILITIES TO THE BEST USE AND UPGRADE BOOKING SERVICES . more

Rightly said. This happened many a times to me. Booking for two, I preferred one window seat and one no choice but alas, WS allotted and the other tkt thrown to next row. Don't give choice, the two persons will be separated and middle seat is allotted in a three seat bench even though plenty of seats available. We don't understand the logic behind the program. The berth allotment also requires moderation. Myself and my wife are senior citizens and by virtue of my name being first, I will be given lower berth and my co passenger wife will be given middle berth. Of course, we adjust our berths but why can't the program be made to give both of the senior citizens the lower berths? Railways can still work for satisfaction of passengers. more
RAILWAYS SHOULD REALIZE THAT THIS IS ALSO AN IMPORTANT ISSUE

FOR THE COMFORTS OF THE PASSENGERS / CUSTOMERS [WE ARE

CUSTOMERS ].

RAIL SAFETY IS ANOTHER SUBJECT . RAILWAYS SHOULD PIN

RESPONSIBILITY ON SOME APPROPRIATE PERSONNEL.

THAT SHOULD NOT BE MIXED UP WITH CUSTOMER CARE . more
