ARE SOME LAWYERS HALF CRIMINALS ?

In pre independent days, India has seen great scholarly lawyers like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Rajaji and others. Seeing the behavior of the present day lawyers, those belonging to younger generation would wonder as to whether such great and patriotic lawyers could have really lived in India.

The atrocious behavior of Delhi lawyers hitting the police men is the worst damage done to the reputation of lawyers by half criminal lawyers who seem to be many in number. What is particularly shocking is that while media has prominently reported the ugly scenes, no media seem to have condemned these lawyers and termed their conduct as rowdy like behavior. No senior lawyer or retired judges do seem to have so far condemned these rowdy lawyers.

The protest by the police men seem to be justified though one would expect police men to behave with dignity. What other options police men have to register their protest when retired judges, senior lawyers and bar council and media conspicuously remain silent as mere observers.

The criminal lawyers should be identified and punished severely and should be barred permanently from practicing in the court. Do the judges have the courage to do this ? It is high time that public should organize themselves and conduct a protest meeting disapproving the behavior of these criminal lawyers in Delhi.

Since judges are also drawn from the same criminal pool, there is not much hope that these lawyers will ever be chastised. more

You nailed it.The quality of lawers today the standards they maintain , The amount of manipulation they do and the behaviours during many events in recent years reflects the sheer malice they hold for the law! The policemen are also equally high handed and lawless at times. But the Delhi events show that it was started by disobeying a existing ban not to park ,the lawers have started the spiral. Goonda elements are high jacking the associations of professionals . Let the violators be booked on both sides and bring back law and order. more
