Are you still buying Made in China: Inputs Sought

Last year after the Chinese attack on Indian soldiers in Galwan valley, many of you had expressed the commitment to move away from Chinese products. A year later, we would like to seek your inputs on what are all the categories where you are still buying chinese products? What are the reasons to do so i.e. value for moeny, uniqueness, quality or all three? .

We look forward to your inputs as that will help in better understanding what can be done with Made in India products to provide you an equivalent and viable alternative.

We look forward to your inputs! more

We are often forced to buy Chinese products because there are no such products made in India. Take mobile phones and laptops for example which became essential to all WFH workforce during the lock down. Even our jawans may be using mobile phones from China and giving their location in real time to China through embedded spyware. Does anyone really care? Are there any Indian made stuff? Even non-chinese laptop brands like HP are made in China. Even if anything is assembled in India it is by Chinese companies. Why blame Amazon? Our so-called industrialists would never invest in R&D. They want cheap solutions and even cheaper products which China alone can supply. Most of our Pharma companies depend on China for the formulations. Is that China's fault or ours? more

Ok India is doing well, but please accept China does very well. A technically sophisticated, entirely electronic products, such as MacBook Air, sold from America, are actually assembled in China. more
More than 6 months back, GOI issued notification that all the online platform (Amazon, flipkart, etc) that they have to display the country of origin for each product being sold for enabling the customer to make the choice of the product based on the informed country of origin. I regret that still the country of origin is not displayed along with product details and prices etc. May I request Local Circles raise the issue to the Govt and get the intent of the Govt implemented. I may suggest the we should post the complaint on the amazon/flipkart/ others to display the country of origin and mention that in the absence of this information they are not able to do the order booking, etc. etc. more
