Assessment of Rail Budget 2016
Please find attached an assessment of Make Railways Better Citizen demands fulfilled via Rail Budget 2016 and open items that have not been addressed.
From a localcircles review, last year many of the IRCTC site/server improvements, tout issues outlined by members to Railways via the circle were implemented through the year beyond the Rail Budget 2015.
We suggest that the items not addressed in Rail Budget 2016 must be kept open between Citizens and Railways with the hope that Ministry of Railways will implement them as feasible. more

please arrange to keep the time always. Time is very very important. In Ernakulam North Railway Station's 2nd flat form as well as Ernakulam Junction' s 6th flat form are to be developed very urgent. Please also note that Ernakulam Old Railway Station's work is to be started and start the railway service from the old railway station, urgent and help the passengers. In the sleeper berth trains, introduce chair cars as in planes, so that passengers can avail of it. By introducing chair cars, seating accommodation in trains can be increased, so also the revenue. Thanks for sharing. But, in my opinion two item need to be urgently devised before the budget is passed: 1. Emergency quota should be converted into paid service @ 1.25 times the tatkal. No refund. Should open on the day of travel for trains starting after 12noon and after 4pm previous day for trains starting before 12 noon. Tatkal can be made to open 3 days in advance (day of journey not counted) and 50% refund permitted. This will bring is some additional revenue to the railways which at present is pocketed by corrupt officials. 2. Please implement the 50-50 seat reservation at 120 days and 60 days. May enhance fare by 10% for 60 day category. more
