Authorized Access to Station Platforms - Solutions

Dear Circle Members:

In an earlier post, many of you had raised concerns about people without tickets, vendors, beggars present on Railway Station platforms. This was also one of the reasons submitted for the lack of cleanliness.

It must also be noted that people make their way to the Railway Station Platforms through station entrances as well as tracks.

With this post, we would like to request your inputs on how a better access/security system can be implemented to ensure the presence of only authorized people on Station Platforms.

We look forward to your inputs!

At an initial stage major Railway stations where upcountry trains make a halt should be designed on the lines of Metro Railway Stations. Access to platform should be restricted and controlled. Surrounding area along with tracks upto 100 meters should barricaded properly. Surprise checking of Vendors, ticketless people and beggars should be taken up on regular basis. more
what about unauthorized access to reserved compartments in the presence of GRP/TTE/ ATTENDENt and canteen staff. Stop these nautankis. We are fed up. Do some thing or enjot tenure collecting haffttas the only thing Railways have do ne so far. Be silent do something. Enough is enough. more

Why not treat railway station very similar to airports? more
If unauthorized entrants are coming inside the station, clearly the gate-keepers need to be alert 24x7. Railway station walls can be solar-fenced, the way it has been done for Infosys campus. more
