Automatic e-ticket refund for cancelled trains
Thanks for your continued inputs via Make Railway Better whitepapers. One of the circle recommendations via multiple whitepapers has been auto refund for cancelled trains.
Ministry of Railways has decided to grant automatic refund of Confirmed/RAC e-tickets on cancellation of trains similar to waitlisted e-tickets. There shall not be any requirement for cancellation/filing of TDR for refund of e-tickets in case of cancellation of trains. This will become effective very shortly.
Tickets booked at the passenger reservation system (PRS) counters shall continue to be refunded across the reservation counter as per the existing provisions.

PNR No. 2361319065 Case No.100000006835779 1. I had filed this TDR on 6/8/2014.. As the train was over 6 hours late. 2.After three months on 21/11/2014 I again contacted irctc and I was told that the refund was under process (ticket number#548286) 3. On 22/11/2014 as told by irctc I contacted Eastern railway on this email ID - ccm@er.railnet.gov.in , but I did not get any sort of response from them on mailing thrice. 4. The above mentioned TDR reference is neither being shown in TDR history now and I have not got any refund or any sort of response response from Eastern Railways or from IRCTC. 5. On 10 May 2015 I again sent a mail regarding this issue to irctc and I got the following reply the next day- "Dear Customer, We would like to inform you that your below enclosed email has been forwarded to the concerned department.You will receive a reply in this regard shortly." And since then another 3 moths have passed and no response yet. ARE THE RAILWAY DEPARTMENTS IN A DEEP SLEEP??!!!!
