The various municipalities of the country are directly responsible for this mess. They are so greedy that they will do anything to get money so with the help of builders and the government they are out to destroy our country. Also the use of plastics which have intensified over the years, how do you control this? I live in Pune and twenty years ago the climate was so comfortable, now the temperatures reach above 40 degrees and the place has become a concrete jungle with buildings everywhere, huge towers bult where luxuries trees once dwelt, so how can we stop this? We cant unless we have a strong government who controls the various municipalities. Even in rural areas, people are cutting down trees like madmen, they cannot afford the LPG cylinder prices and so they use wood as fuel for everyday necessities. PM ji what is your take on this? more
Plantation of Trees is one of the Important issue. Secondly EXPLODING Population must be CONTROLLED. About 70-80 years back this was not an issue, slowly slowly it is increasing and has reached to an alarming level. more
The way we keep adding concrete everywhere in the name of development, these issues are going to keep mounting till we start killing our people. Any temperature above 38C is beyond the human body temperature and it will have serious implications. We are not designed to survive in such harsh conditions and it can have far-reaching effects. Fixing this issue will take at least 3 to 4 decades as we will have to start radically changing the way we do certain things. Adding to green cover is priority number one. Restoring water bodies and ground water is also a top priority. Vanity projects that destroy green covers much be curtailed. Getting rid of plastics and heat wasting manufacturing processes is needed. Respect for teh planet and educating people about it is a top need. We have one planet and one life. Are we wanting to ruin it? more
India needs 40% forest cover.Economic growth killing environment more
The only way to come out of this situation is to plant as many trees as possible. And not only to plant, but to look after them on a regular basis for 4-6 years after the plantation. Any tree takes 5-7 years to grow fully. The more the no. of trees can take care of the rising temperature, soil erosion and water retention. We can also set the aircon temp. at our homes / offices to 26 Deg. This will not only save electricity but will also help prevent release of hot air/gases in the atmosphere. more
