Banking difficulties of people

Thrilled to see LocalCircles banking difficulties survey in multiple english hindi news papers yesterday.

These banks control what goes against them in the media but glad that because of it being a LocalCircles survey even editors did not hold the story.

Just hoping that RBI takes note and does something so when someone online password isn’t working they arent made to visit branches and sit for hours. My elder brother who is in his 60’s just did and that too in Mumbai.

If 41% families cant access one or more of their accounts online its a major slap on the face of bank management. May be PM/FM intervention is also needed. more

My experience with SBI is really bad. I am 78 years of age and have dealt with atleast 20 different banks. But the carelessness and other inefficiencies in SBI is at its top. It should improve its services, machineries, staff discipline etc. more
I am from Pondichéry now in France, réunion island, i am with french banks like BNP , very user friendly, the programmers who made the software are very cautious of one thing, not to vex the customers with too many access procedures and complications to use pass word etc more
My own experience with Canara Bank is abysmal. I have my pension account and a joint power plus account with my wife. In the joint account, my wife did not receive her debit card after its expiry last year. When we approached the bank, she was given. However, when we look at her account, it does not show the card in her name and hence she is unable to use google pay from her account. When she gave a letter, they said that they had corrected it and debited Rs59 from that account. This is the penalty we paid for their mistake. However, in spite of that this has not been rectified in her account and she is unable to use gpay or any other transaction like that. The other thing is that in spite of keeping enough money in my account and also being a senior citizen, I never get the denominations that I want. Their behaviour is also very rude. more
The situation varies from bank to bank. Generally public sector banks rooted in bureaucracy have inefficient online banking systems. SBI is a notable exception with very user-friendly website and mobile app. One of the banks which I use has a system with different options for looking at transactions and current balance. The former does not show the balance with each transaction. It is a no brainer considering that it is how passbook entries are shown. more
This is the plight of the people. Both Indians and NRIs suffer in the hands of bank managers more
