Banning above 15 year old vehicles.

It is good news for the citizens though 100 %pollution reduction may not be possible but step in right direction.
Good to put curbs -fitness every six months, raising reregistration etc on these above 15 year olds.
Stimulates automobiles business and electric vehicles in general.
Scrapping agencies must from motor companies as they can issue genuine certificates of scrapping. Some retrieval of important parts can be done by them also( cannibalization)
But private dealers/ fake scrap dealers who are in to cannibalization for parts may land up for buying as scrap but their certificates are not valid for RTA to claim exemption from registration fee for new vehicular buying.
Any way the proposed draft of modification of MVA will trigger advent of new generation of electric powered bicycles, scooters, motor cycles ,cars .
With more driving space on roads and lessening of accidents and safe driving us a near possibility
The commmon man can rejoice on such impending change. more

Vehicle registration after 15 years for petrol cars should be allowed for individuals who have maintained their car in good running condition and on KMS driven. more
Banning of cars should be based on the kilometers driven. Also, its mostly the commercial vehicles that are run exceeding 15 years & in terms of kilometers driven. more
Why ban all 15 year old vehicles? There are people of 80+ age who have maintained their vehicles in good condition and occasionally use their car to visiting doctor etc.. It will be cruel to make them discard their cars. more
Government cannot afford to ban more than 15 years old vehicles. Most of state and local (not BEST) buses are more than 15 years old and Government cannot afford to take these vehicles off the road. more
Officially banned but transport department cannot phase out all these (more than 15 years old) vehicles as there will be lesser buses on the road and due to fund crunch Government cannot buy. more
But these are already banned in Dehli more
Legislation of 15 yr old veh is not very appropriate, as few working class have purchased with hard earned money and maintained very well their cars with tender care and some of them might have not vern clocked 50/70 thousand kilometers, how such a veh be polluting? secondly, there should be inspected, and certified for further life of say 5 yrs or so. Most important, Govt. has made enough money by way of Central Excise Duty, Spl Duties, State Govt.'s Sales Tax, Life Tax etc. which means, Govt is the beneficiary in all these besides the banks and Financial institutions who might have lent for these cars financing. How come the Govt be a silent to all these ?? Ideally these cards should be given opportunity in Rural Areas as being done in developed countries too. more
