Bio Toilets - Feedback Sought

Indian Railways has already installed 37,000 bio toilets in coaches and plans to install 1.4 lakh bio toilets by 2019 with the objective of making rail network a zero discharge zone by then.

We would like to seek your inputs on how the bio toilets are working. If you have experienced use of bio toilet in Indian Railways, please share your inputs on what is working well and what needs to be improved.

We look forward to your inputs! more

It is good. No doubt but how to make people understand that they should not spoil it. more
I think as a country we are not disciplined enough. We routinely throw trash out of traveling trains/buses and even cars. Yesterday on a journey the person sitting next to me opened the bus window. I was thinking he wanted some air, but suddenly he pulls out something and throws it out the window, which happened to be an eaten cob of corn, all this while cars are also passing on his side. Could have been dangerous if it hit a car behind. Given this scenario, any kinds of notices do not help. So bio toilets are too far for us. more
It is not as expected but it can be improved if the system can clean the toilet closet by using lot of water. People also have to improve their turn to update the way to keep it clean. The mug is totally a waste and unhygienic. People are using water bottles. more
bio toilets are in bad state. they stink. more
Yes, u r right but its our duty to maintain it. more
There is a notice informing hat it is bio toilet and not to throw bottles and solids. Also advices them to throw the trash into the dust bin . That means every toilet with bio facility should have a dustbin for the papers. Particularly western toilet users and for the water less users. more
