Black Money and Real Estate

What an eye opening survey by LocalCircles on black money in real estate.

https://www.localcircles.com/a/press/page/eight-years-of-demonetisation

I do think though that LC manager should delink the issue from demonetisation. It should just focus on the problem that netas and babus and inspector level people have way too much benami property and either it be all linked to their aadhaar or be confiscated by the Govt and used for public benefit

truly said .Daily we see when any govt employee in any revenue dept is raided out comes his properties and assets much more than his known source of income.Lokayukta are trapping such people everywhere but what happens to the property seized we do not know whether they are auctioned off . more
True, can the common man say no to bribing, Absolutely No, then how can we stop this malpractice. Have you seen the cheating going on in the GST circle where people claim false credits? All you have to do is see how many crackers are being burnt on Diwali to see how much black money there is which is being blown up. There is a man in a crowded locality in Colaba who deals in all kinds of foreign curreny. Do the police not know about it or do they turn a blind eye. How much GST is being cheated upon. As for UPI payments, long drive taxis, rickshaws are all not accepting this. They want CASH. India cannot be managed, it has to be divided like Europe, only then will the states learn to keep their own states profitable, it will curb migration and India will progress. more
Increasing the use of digital payments, e-registration, and blockchain technology could help address the black money problem by making transactions more transparent and traceable. Some experts advocate for integrating property transaction databases with national tax records and financial systems to ensure transparency. The Indian government has taken various measures to curb black money in real estate, such as the Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Act, the introduction of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA), and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to make housing affordable and transparent. In addition, the Demonetization of high-value currency notes in 2016 was a direct attempt to root out black money from sectors like real estate, but its effectiveness in the long run has been debated. GST (Goods and Services Tax) has also played a role in formalizing transactions, although many still believe that a large portion of the sector remains opaque. more
What did we do with the massive funds collected through Electoral Bonds , declared illegal by Supreme Court. Has that fund been deposited in Govt Treasury ? No .So यथा राजा तथा प्रजा। On Sat, 9 Nov, 2024, 10:42 Mala Sehgal, wrote: > more
Black money and corruption in the country will continue as long as common people are prepared to happily contribute to them. The loopholes that encourage and contribute to generating black money, in general, have to be first plugged in, but who will ring the bell because the concerned authorities themselves are the beneficiaries of black money? more
