Block some lower berths for senior citizens and release if any left on journey date

Senior citizens find it difficult to climb to middle and upper berths. If certain berths – say 5/bogie are blocked for seniors, it will be great relief! Any un-booked berths can be released on journey date. more

The Railwyas is in sensitive to the difficulties of senior citizens. Nowhere in the world senior citizens are treated with such a callous attitude. IR should automatically allot lower berths for senior citizens and reserve these for tehse citizens on priority. more  
Certain specified percentage could be held but not 100% or 50% as many of the members have suggested. As rightly pointed out by one of the members, a passenger of 59 years of age is also likely to face similar problems as of a passenger of 60 or 61 years of age in climbing the middle or upper berths and can't be denied of a lower berth merely because he is of 59 years of age! more

I fully endorse with the suggestion made by Sri M V Rao as a senior citizen, recently I had been to Hyderabad, while returning by Mysore express I was given a UB it was very difficult to travel on UB. It was really a Herculean task. Railways must consider facilitating LB, providing western commode for senior citizens are all welfare measures not a liability. Hope the Ministry of Railways will change their attitude towards Senior citizens. more  
Yes, Lower Berths can be put on hold in system. But No any Concession for Sr. citizens. wealthy Sr. Citizens don;t need it & Needy will not write on social media. The freebies habit should be eliminated. more
