Booster and Child Vaccine - Questions

Big announcements, bigger questions:

1. Will same vaccine be given as booster dose?
2. Data for mix & match?
3. 80% Indians have got Covishield vaccine, do we have enough Covaxin doses for mix & match?
4. What is the Covaxin efficacy in kids?
5. Side effects of Covaxin in kids?

Anyone having inisights or knowedge of this please share? more

Being a pediatrician these are basics of next step only point valid is it should be discussed on expert pannel. more
Ms.Ruchika, your comments reek of destructive criticism and negativity. Since you don't have the complete picture nor the data to support your assumptions. Please focus on spreading positivity. If you cannot, please keep quiet and stop spreading negativity. A typical leftist mentality - you don't do anything nor will you people let anyone else do their work. Such a shame. more
Her questions are justified , we should discuss it to find solution as those are very crucial part for planning booster dose and vaccines for kids. more
Ruchikaji, this is not within our ambit to debate, leave it to the medical community and the government. Don't waste time and energy of members of this forum. Be constructive. more
Better for us to leave it to the experts and our honorable P.M to take a decision on what is good for the people of this country more
I worked as a clinical vaccinologist and this 'mix and match' is technically known as 'heterologous prime-boost'. This could have been done in the first round itself though practically, this would have been impossible for several reasons. However, for the booster dose planned now, this is feasible and should be done. This is a very scientific approach with a high probability of giving better protection. Having said that, may I urge the LC members to promote the use of wearing a proper N95 mask (covering the nose and mouth) and also wear goggles as there is a suggestion that this virus may enter through the eyes also (I am not sure of the scientific veracity of this statement though). Let us spread the message that vaccination and wearing of mask (if possible wear N95 and over that a surgical mask). I am sure we can all contribute in a big way to stopping this epidemic. more
